Welcome to week four in a series of blog posts taking us through the book, MORE. Let’s dive right in to discovering our primary position in this life. And that position is all about relationships.

Start here | Prayer

God, I want to live a full and abundant life. As I read through this book and work through the study guide, I pray that You will reveal to me the unique position in life you are calling me to. Help me to see clearly the people you are calling me to reach. And help me to be intentional as a missionary in those relationships.

Scripture |

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 NLT

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NLT

“Read about Dr. Coleman’s mission field starting on page 19 and continuing to the last paragraph on page 130.

Observations |

What do you think Jesus is telling you in Matthew 28? Have you often thought that Jesus was only referring to certain people in the church?

As you read Matthew 28, what elements of the command are missing in your life? Who are the people in your life that come to mind that you have a relationship with that you could impact for eternity simply by introducing them to Jesus?

Jesus again speaks to us in Acts 1:8. As you read that verse, what do you believe Jesus is calling you to?

What elements of Acts 1:8 are missing in your own life? Do you take seriously that you have a role to play in your unique place in life or are you comfortable allowing paid professionals to try and play this role for you?

As you read Dr. Coleman’s story, can you look around your own life and see “ripe” opportunities to reach people that are already in your life?

If you worked through the study guide for week 4, then you are familiar with the relationship map that you began to build. Think about how Dr. Coleman positioned himself to make the greatest Kingdom impact. Whose name is on your relationship map that you can clearly see that God has positioned you perfectly to reach them for Christ?

Application |

Identify 3-5 people who you are currently connected to in some sort of a relationship. Maybe it’s on an HOA board, PTO, mom’s group, golf club, work environment, your kid’s sports team, your gym or other location.

Write down the names of the people you would like to see come to Christ in the next year.

Begin praying for each person by name and ask God to give you opportunities to share your faith and to eventually walk with them as they discover Christ in their own life.

Share your list and your plan with one person. Find accountability in this process so that you don’t leave it to chance.
