New Life Christian Church’s Linton Hall Campus is hosting a Family Worship Night to remember the sacrifice that was made for each of us on Good Friday. There will be KidZone available for children 5 and under. Click here to register your 5 and under child.

Why is it “Good” Friday?
It is the day we remember Jesus willingly suffered and died by crucifixion as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (1 John 1:10). It is considered good because, although the suffering and death of Christ was indeed terrible, it marked a dramatic culmination of God’s plan to save his people from their sins.

What does the Bible say?
What we’ve earned for our sin is death. Not just physical death but eternal death from God, our Father.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23)
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)

However, Christ paid that price. He took our place and died for our sins.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
