Anger always glorifies…someone

James 1:19-20 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Anger always glorifies someone.

Quick to listen

Listening is our default

  1. Seek to Understand
  2. Ask questions. Jesus asked over 340 questions recorded. Most of the time Jesus is asked a question, he responds
    with a question.
  3. Rephrase and Paraphrase? “Am I hearing you right…” Let me see if I’m hearing you correctly.
  4. Invest- No other conversations

Before you speak, think Is it:

  1. True
  2. Helpful
  3. Inspiring
    Necessary
  4. Kind

Slow to become Angry

Why am I still angry?

Pray

Who is my anger glorifying?

Anger always glorifies…someone.
