Luke 2:1-3 CSB – In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole empire should be registered. 2 This first registration took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. 3 So everyone went to be registered, each to his own town.

Psalm 11:4-7 CSB
The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord—his throne is in heaven.
His eyes watch;
his gaze examines everyone.
5 The Lord examines the righteous,

and those who love violence.
6 Let him rain burning coals and sulfur on the wicked;

Jesus is the Redeeming Savior—We Can Be Clean

Hebrews 9:22 CSB – According to the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Romans 3:24-25 CSB – they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as the mercy seat by his blood, through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.
