Love is Confusing!

John 13:1 CSB – Before the Passover Festival, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

The reigning cliché of the day is that in order to love others one must first learn to love oneself. This formulation–love thyself, then thy neighbor–is a license for unremitting self-indulgence, because the quest for self-love is endless.

Jesus Clarifies the Confusion by Demonstrating Love
