Psalm 78:5-7 MSG – He planted a witness in Jacob,
set his Word firmly in Israel,
Then commanded our parents
to teach it to their children
So the next generation would know,
and all the generations to come—
Know the truth and tell the stories
so their children can trust in God,
Never forget the works of God
but keep his commands to the letter.

Judges 2:10 CSB – That whole generation was also gathered to their ancestors. After them another generation rose up who did not know the Lord or the works he had done for Israel.

Proverbs 31:1 CSB – The words of King Lemuel, a pronouncement[a] that his mother taught him:

Proverbs 31:2-3 CSB – What should I say, my Son? What, son of my womb? What, son of my vows? Don’t spend your energy on women or your efforts on those who destroy kings.

Help your kids cultivate Godly relationships

Proverbs 13:20 CSB – The one who walks with the wise will become wise,
but a companion of fools will suffer harm.

Proverbs 31:4-7 CSB – “It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine or for rulers to desire beer. Otherwise, he will drink, forget what is decreed, and pervert justice for all the oppressed. Give beer to one who is dying and wine to the one whose life is bitter. Let him drink so that he can forget his poverty and remember his trouble no more.”

Help your kids crave Jesus (not beer)

Ecclesiastes 9:7 CSB – Go, eat your bread with pleasure, and drink your wine with a cheerful heart, for God has already accepted your works.”

Ephesians 5:18 CSB – And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless living, but be filled by the Spirit:

Ephesians 5:19 CSB – speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord,
