What’s Your Picture of Worship?

Romans 1:18-25 CSB – 

For God’s wrath is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth, ¹⁹ since what can be known about God is evident among them, because God has shown it to them.

²⁰ For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. As a result, people are without excuse.

For though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became worthless, and their senseless hearts were darkened. ²² Claiming to be wise, they became fools ²³ and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.

²⁴ Therefore God delivered them over in the desires of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves. ²⁵ They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served what has been created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:17 CSB – Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God, who richly provides us with all things to enjoy.

Genuine Worship is Powerful Enough to Make You Joyful

Psalm 43:5 CSB – 

Why, my soul, are you so dejected?
Why are you in such turmoil?
Put your hope in God, for I will still praise him,
my Savior and my God.

Feeling Down? David says, I turned my eyes to God.

Psalm 73, David is Frustrated! 

v.2,But as for me, my feet almost slipped;
my steps nearly went astray.
³ For I envied the arrogant;
I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

v.16,

When I tried to understand all this,
it seemed hopeless
¹⁷ until I entered God’s sanctuary.
Then I understood their destiny.

Genuine Worship Is Powerful to Humble Us

Psalm 24,The earth and everything in it,
the world and its inhabitants,
belong to the Lord;

Psalm 29:2 CSB – Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness.

Psalm 8:3-5 CSB – 

When I observe your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you set in place,
⁴ what is a human being that you remember him,
a son of man that you look after him?
⁵ You made him little less than God
and crowned him with glory and honor.
