1. What Causes Paul’s Discouragement
- The Prevalence of Sin
- Loneliness
- Fatigue
- Frustrations
Acts 18:2 CSB – he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla because Claudius had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome.
Acts 18:4-6 CSB – He reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and tried to persuade both Jews and Greeks.

2. How Does God Help Paul When Discouraged?
- God provides encouraging friends

Paul came to them, 3 and since they were of the same occupation, tentmakers by trade, he stayed with them and worked.
Hebrews 3:12,13 CSB – Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception.

- God Gave Paul Work to Accomplish
Act 18:3 CSB – since they were of the same occupation, tentmakers by trade, he stayed with them and worked.

- God Led Paul to Make Disciples
