I. Prayer isn’t so much to change God’s HEART, as it is to ask for His intervention.

Genesis 18:22-25 NIV – Then Abraham approached (God) and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare[e] the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? 25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Prayer isn’t so much to change God’s HEART, as it is to ask for His intervention.

2 Peter 3:9 NIV – (God) is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

Prayer isn’t so much to change God’s HEART, as it is to ask for His intervention.

Prayer isn’t about changing God’s HEART, it’s about requesting His intervention.

II. Prayer isn’t so much to change God’s heart, it’s to change OUR hearts.

Romans 12:2 NIV – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

II. Prayer isn’t so much to change God’s heart, it’s to change OUR hearts.

III. Prayer is a gift to be cherished, and a discipline to be cultivated.
