Why doesn’t work feel sacred?

Are you talented? 

Matthew 25:14 ESV – For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.

Matthew 25:28-29 ESV – So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

Proverbs 22:29 ESV – Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings.

What’s the parable really about?

Secular culture: a job = functionality – vitality

Kingdom culture: a calling = functionality + vitality

Matthew 25:21 ESV – “The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’”
