Okay, so the story we have isn’t about the karate stand-off with the crocodile in the Mayan ruins.

However, The Story was a sermon series we completed that will help you understand God’s Word more fully and engage with it more easily.

If you are looking to learn more about the Bible, God, or generally what the greatest story ever told was. These resources are for you.

The Bible is central to our faith but many people are intimidated by its scope and size. The Story gives us a way to journey from Genesis to Revelation together so everyone understands God’s story and how their story intersects with it.

A Gallup survey reports the average American household has four Bibles. However, research by Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life (2008) found that only 16 percent of Americans read the Bible every day. Considering The Bible is the best-selling book in history, why aren’t more people actually reading it? Many feel it’s too confusing, full of contradictions, or just plan irrelevant today.

We are working to reverse this trend at New Life. We believe The Story is a great tool to help people understand God’s story from Genesis to Revelation and how their own stories intersect with God’s.  Consisting of 31 chapters of carefully-selected scriptures sequenced in chronological order, The Story presents the word of God in an engaging format, reading like a novel.

And this isn’t just for the adults… Our children and teens can also study age appropriate editions of The Story so that families can learn together. We encouraging families to discuss the weekly reading over the dinner table or another convenient time for them.

In addition to these family discussions, we host Story Discussion Groups from time to time. These groups give us a chance to process with others what we are learning. We all have questions. What better place to learn than with others who are right there with us.

So let us encourage you to come to New Life, pick up a copy of The Story, watch the sermons, and then get involved with a Discussion Group. We promise you that if you do this, God will change your life. How do we know? Because God promises that His Word will accomplish what He desires. And that’s for your life to be restored to all it can be.
