God gives us grace, forgiveness and redemption. There is true power in that! Redemption is possible through Christ! Over the last few weeks we have been looking at different redemption stories found in the Bible as we get ready to read about the ultimate redemption, Jesus’ death on the cross. In this week’s readings and devotionals 2 themes stood out.

Jesus Meets Us Where We Are At

Mary Magdalene’s past was not something to brag about. She was possessed by 7 demons and speculation was that she was a prostitute. However, none of that matter to Jesus. Like everyone else Jesus encountered, he met her where she was at and her life changed. She was present at Jesus’ death and resurrection. See how her life was impacted in this devotional and what it means for us today. But remember, Jesus doesn’t need you to be perfect to begin a relationship with Him. He accepts you where you are at challenges you to repent, obey and follow Him. No matter what your past is, you can become a follower of Christ today.

Your Sins Are Truly Forgiven

redemptionAn unnamed woman was caught in the act of adultery. She was brought before Jesus as a test to see if he would uphold the law of Moses. Instead, Jesus started writing on the ground. When challenged some more, he said, “The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.” And eventually everyone left. She deserved death but Jesus gave her forgiveness. You can learn more about it in this devotional. In the same way, Jesus forgives all our sins. They are truly forgiven based on His death on the cross. Will you accept His forgiveness?
