Life is filled with many ups and downs. During times of joy and blessing, it’s easy to thank God. But when things get difficult, gratitude often fades. Yet God is worthy of our praise in every season of life. Here are 3 truths from Scripture to remember about giving thanks always.

Why?

1. God is good and His love endures forever.

In Psalm 118:1 it says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” This phrase is mentioned throughout the book of Psalms. It goes to show the importance of acknowledging His goodness and love. No matter what we face, God’s character never changes. He is always good, gracious, merciful and loving. His faithful love persists through every storm. We can be thankful that we serve a good God who will never leave or forsake us. He promises to work all things for the good of those who love Him.

2. God grants us the gift of life.

John 1:3 says, “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” That means that every breath and heartbeat comes from God. He formed us and knows us deeply. All we have was given to us by God, our Creator. Because of this, we can live gratefully, acknowledging God’s gift of life each day.

3. God provides our daily bread.

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” We can be thankful for how God is faithful and provides for us daily. Even though we will face trials of different kinds, God promises to supply all that we need. When the Israelites were n the wilderness in the book of Exodus, God gave manna from heaven. Through Christ, God meets our spiritual hunger. He is the Lord who Provides. He cares about both our physical and spiritual well being.

Conclusion

The month of November is always a time for us to remember to be thankful. Let’s not forget to thank God, not just for His provisions, but for who He is. By giving thanks in all circumstances, our hearts remain focused on the eternal instead of our temporary troubles. “Give praise to the LORD, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done.” – Psalm 105:1.
