A few weeks ago Linton Hall was blessed to have Destini Parker come in as a Family Ministry Resident. She has been training at Chantilly the last few weeks with Elinor and Cindy, but is really excited about joining Linton Hall this Sunday.

So who is she? Here is some information about Destini to get to know her.

Name: Destini Brianna Parker

Where you are from: Rocky Mount, North Carolina (home of southern style cooking and where sweet tea is the answers to most problems)

School: Mid-Atlantic Christian University (Elizabeth City, North Carolina)

Year/Major: Junior/Youth and Family Ministry

Department you are interning with: Linton Hall Children’s Ministry

What are you passionate about: I have a passion for kids and teaching them the Gospel. I think knowing the Gospel at an early age is essential to the foundation of a child’s relationship with Christ. I also understand that the church only has a couple hours with kids each week, so another goal and passion of mine is reaching out to the parents who may not be involved in the church and trying to get the parents excited about what their kids are learning on Sundays and getting them excited about the healthy friendships the kids are gaining within their age group. Hoping that the conversation may lead to “How can I get plugged into a group to know more about this Jesus guy?”

Why you chose this internship: I loved the idea of building a safe place (like a gym) to reach God’s people. The project was unique and pretty extraordinary.

Fun Fact: Although I’ve grown up playing just about every sport, I’m super clumsy. I’ve tripped over my feet and split my tongue in half, I’ve fallen on a candy apple stick and have gotten it stuck through my leg. My latest fall was during a volleyball match this year while warming up in front of the whole crowd (: that wasn’t embarrassing at all.

We are really excited to have Destini join us at Linton Hall! Make sure you say “hey” to her when you see her on Sunday and make her feel welcome!
