Making an Impact this Summer

My name is Ebony Bright and I am a six month resident here at New Life. Last summer I had the opportunity to volunteer in Camp Kidzone as a summer intern and it was definitely a life changing experience. All the kids involved in Camp Kidzone truly just want to learn and be heard. It was through camp that I was able to teach and listen to the kids as well as build lasting relationships. See camp is not just a rewarding experience for the campers but for the volunteers as well because we get to make a positive impact on these kids lives but they also make a huge impact on our lives as well.

I have already run into a few kids at different events which makes me even more excited to be back in Virginia. I am very excited about getting camp started again this year as I am the Camp Director this summer. I am especially glad that I get a chance to work with some of the same students as last year as well as having 5 other Interns to help run it.

I can’t wait to get camp started in just a few weeks as I know it will be an amazing summer.
