Way back in 1952, Congress set aside the first Thursday of May as the National Day of Prayer. Our prayer team has put together a plan to help you pray through the day with them. During the day on May 2nd, the Prayer Team will be posting prayer prompts on social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). These will be designed to walk us through praying for our nation and our nations leaders specifically on this day.

Not sure where to start? Here are some ways that you can observe the National Day of Prayer:

Set a time: Set aside time to personally pray specifically for our country
Pray as a family: Designate a special time to pray for our country with your family
Send an email: You can send an email to your congressman/woman to let them know you are praying for them by going to their public website and clicking on the “email me” link. You can even send an email to the President by filling out the contact form on the Whitehouse.gov site.
National Day of Prayer activity: For example, there are activities at Manassas City Hall, McLean Bible Church, Hylton Memorial Christian Event Center. You can find the one closest to you here.
Pray when you see a flag: Every time you see an American flag on May 2nd, stop and say a prayer for our country.

These are just a few of the ways that you can participate in the National Day of Prayer.
