Every year I am in ministry I come up with goals to keep me focused. These goals also help me figure out if I am effective or not in what I am doing.

This year is no different.

The Online Campus is on the verge of our second year. Although we had a great first year, I want to push the limits a little. In fact, Brett challenged us to not fear failing, but strive toward goals that will push you. So, I did that.

Through the last year, we have grown to an average of 110 connected computers and mobile devices watching live on Sunday mornings. As I looked at these numbers, I wanted push it a little and say I would like 200 devices watching the Sunday morning services by January 1, 2016. And, I would like to grow to 25 IP devices watching each mid-week rebroadcast service by then as well. That average number right now is about 5 per service. Why these numbers? Because each one of the devices could be another Tina – a life change by following God.

So, how am I going to do this? I mean, I’ve done a lot of different things so far. I have done ads, promoted heavily on social media, and have networked with others sharing about what is happening on the Online Campus. That has helped a little but honestly, it’s not getting me to 200 by January 1.

Unknown-4Then it struck me. Why don’t I commit this to prayer? Why don’t I spend time each day praying for God to guide me, direct me, and help people discover the services? It is my Next Step because I don’t want 200 people for my numbers, but I want people to Discover God, Develop in a relationship with Him, and Deploy purposefully in their community.

So that’s what I’m going to do. Sure, I’ll try other things as well, but honestly I’m going to be purposefully praying these next few months for God to show up and lead people to the campus. I believe He WILL.

And here’s the challenge for all of us: Let’s do something similar in our lives. We may not be praying for goals, but maybe our marriages are hurting, or our families are divided. Maybe we are heartbroken, or dealing with some stress or grief.

What if instead of trying to figure it out on our own, we offer it up to God and see what He will do?

Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

1 John 5:14 – “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”

Life is so hard, there is NO WAY we can do this on our own and own way. We NEED God’s intervention. We NEED God’s help. And the GREAT NEWS is that He wants to give it to us.

I pray that you go to God now and expect Him to show up for you in a big way.

What’s your goal?
