How to Respond to the Olympic Opening Ceremony Controversy

August 12, 2024

Olympic

In case you missed it, there was a bit of controversy over the Olympic opening ceremony in Paris. There was a certain part of the ceremony that depicted Da Vinci’s painting of the Last Supper that was insulting and caused a lot of believers and even the Vatican to speak out against this.

When events or actions like this happen, people often ask what New Life’s opinion is on this. That is why, this week, Brett Andrews, our Lead Pastor, shared two video devotionals on how we should respond to what happened at the Olympic opening ceremony.

Part 1

Part 2

What stood out to you from these devotional videos? How were you challenged?

Conclusion

While there has been a lot of discussion about the Olympic opening ceremony, lets not have selective outrage on just this. Let’s use it as an opportunity to examine our faith and how we are living our life. Are we honoring God in how we are living our life every day. Honor God and see how He uses that to help others draw closer to Christ daily.

At New Life, we offer a variety of Bible reading plans for exploring God’s word and practically applying it to our lives today. If you would like to be part of a Bible reading plan, check out the different options here. You can also check out other devotionals throughout the week here.
