Preparing For Easter: Powerful Worship Music
March 2, 2026
Easter is the heartbeat of the Christian faith. It is the morning that changed everything — the moment death lost and life won. And few things capture the weight and wonder of that truth quite like worship music. The right song at the right moment can move a truth from your head down into your heart in a way that a thousand words sometimes cannot.
As you prepare your heart for Easter this year, here are some songs worth playing on a regular basis:
“Christ Is Risen” by Matt Maher is a powerful declaration that doesn’t let you stay passive. Its driving energy mirrors the urgency of the resurrection story itself, reminding us that the news of an empty tomb demands a response. It’s a great song to start your Easter morning with full volume.
“See The Dawn” by Stuart Townend is a more reflective choice, walking listeners through the agony of the cross before arriving at the glory of Sunday. Sometimes Easter hits harder when you don’t skip past Friday, and this song refuses to let you do that.
“Living Hope” by Phil Wickham has become a modern Easter anthem for good reason. Rooted in 1 Peter 1:3, it connects the resurrection directly to the hope we carry every day — not just on Easter Sunday. Its bridge is one of the most singable and Spirit-filled moments in contemporary worship.
“Glorious Day” by Casting Crowns tells the gospel story from creation to redemption with warmth and clarity. It’s accessible for all ages, making it a wonderful option for family worship at home.
Finally, don’t overlook the hymns. “Low in the Grave He Lay” (Christ Arose) by Robert Lowry carries a centuries-old joy that modern songs still echo. When the chorus erupts — up from the grave He arose — there is something timeless and electric about it.
However you worship this Easter, let the music do what it was made to do: point you past the song and straight to the Savior.
