Over the past month, we have been going over different spiritual disciplines with the hope to grow closer to Christ as you grow in your faith. This past week, we covered what it means to serve others and submit to God. It’s when we humbly submit ourselves to God and serve others that we can have a great impact. Here are 3 lessons learned from the past week.

Think of Others Before Yourself

Put others first! That’s what Paul talks about in Philippians 2:3-4. That is quite different that what the world tells us. The world tells us to think “me” first. However, Paul challenges us to humbly put others before us. See how you can do this in this devotional.

Even Christ Submitted to God’s Authority

Submitting to God’s authority can be challenging for us at times. However, in Philippians 2:5-11, Paul gives a very clear example of how even Jesus Christ, God’s own son, submitted to God’s authority. Read it, watch this devotional and humbly submit to God’s authority, just a Christ did.

JesusBe the Hands and Feet of Christ

Right before his death, Jesus did something extraordinary. In John 13 we see Jesus, the King of Kings, Lord of all and son of the living God, get on his hands and knees and wash his friends feet. And while in and itself is extraordinary, Jesus serve people all throughout his life. Tom Hamberger shares how we can follow Christ’s example in this devotional and be the hands and feet of Christ by serving others.
