A few weeks ago Patrick Dennis mentioned the Kentucky Mission Trip. Here are a few thoughts and pictures from the trip leader, Tim Madorma.
For the past several years, New Life Christian Church has traveled to Williamsburg, KY on a mission to help rebuild crumbling homes and show the love of Jesus to people who are in desperate need of hope and love. We call ourselves the “Cross Eyed Builders”. This year the 33 people that came were composed of about half adults and half youth. People who didn’t have experience in construction were trained and learned new skills. We performed many different tasks at five job sites. The construction work was important, but more important than that were the times that we had to connect and share life with the people to whom we minister. By the end of the week we had so many wonderful stories of how God showed up and blessed both us, and the people we served. What an awesome God we serve!
