The Riot is Reaching Out

October 27, 2014

The Riot logoThere is a moment in the life of Jesus where a religious leader asked Jesus what’s most important in life. Jesus responded: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-40)

The RIOT, New Life Christian Church’s student ministry, is deploying into the community by loving God and loving people. For thirty days we will pray and read the Bible for 5 minutes every day. We aim to connect with God in a new and profound way in order to grow relationally with our God and to seek His vision for our lives.

We will also unite in loving people by challenging students to random acts of kindness through the month. We believe that no act of kindness is too small. From holding doors and writing encouraging notes to being part of Operation Christmas Child, we hope to make an impact the people we encounter, our community and our own lives. Along with a challenging thirty acts in thirty days we will be seeking to connect our students into service opportunities within our church.

By seeing our faith become active and utilizing social media we want to equip, empower, and unleash a generation of students to become Kingdom Workers. A group of students influencing the world around them for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We call it #loveRIOT, we hope you will follow our lead and join us in impacting the world.
