Let’s start with some basics
“Gay” and “Homosexual” vs. “Same-Sex attracted”
These are identity markers for people who choose to celebrate that lifestyle and do not consider it a moral issue.
Refers to people who CHOOSE NOT to celebrate or indulge in their homosexual desires. Their sexual orientation is NOT an identity marker.
Is there a genetic cause for homosexuality?
As of 2016, the most detailed scientific answer: We’re not sure… yet

As a same-sex attracted man, I can tell you that it FEELS natural
Our ability to choose supersedes genetics.
I support the rights of gay and transgender people to pursue their dreams.
But there are those who believe that living a gay life is not compatible with their values.
They have the SAME RIGHTS to CHOOSE another path.
For the Christian, the opposite of homosexuality is NOT heterosexuality…it’s holiness.

Let us acknowledge difference
Let us teach Biblical truth
But let us also extend a welcome while people learn and question and try to figure things out.
There is a difference between Acceptance and Approval
WHEN WE LIVE LIKE THIS, WHAT WE ARE SAYING IS: We will not rush to judgment or make assumptions about you; you are a welcome guest here, even though we disagree.
Let us be RADICAL
– Honest about the truth
– Honest when we don’t have an answer
– Honest when the answer is not popular
But let us radically serve and love and welcome anyone to come and worship and learn and be free to ask questions while they build relationship

I didn’t leave homosexuality because I believed it was so bad.
I left homosexuality because someone was able to prove to me how much better JESUS is.
We can’t tell people about how amazing Jesus is by telling them everything we are against.
