Joy in the Bible

What’s the secret to joy?

Faith in God’s Sovereignty

Philippians 1:6 – “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

Philippians 1:12 – “I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.”

Philippians 1:29 – “For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.”

Philippians 3:21 – “…who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”

Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

Surpassing Worth of Knowing Christ!

Philippians 3:8, 9 – “Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him.”

Philippians 4:12, 13 – “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Philippians 4:4 – “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.”

Why is it so important?

Philippians 1:27 – “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ.”

Luke 4:18, 19 NLT – “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring GOOD NEWS to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives WILL BE RELEASED, that the blind WILL SEE, that the oppressed WILL BE SET FREE, and that the time of the LORD’S FAVOR has come.”
