Basis of Salvation = Grace
Ephesians 2:1, 4-5 CSB – And you were dead in your trespasses and sins… But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us,[b] 5 made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!
Ephesians 2:1-5 MSG – It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us!
Means of Salvation = Faith
Ephesians 2:8 CSB – For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—
Acts 2:38 CSB – “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Time of Salvation = Baptism
1 Peter 3:21b NIV – and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.
Romans 6:3-5 NIV – Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
Acts 16:31 CSB – They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
Acts 16:32-33 CSB – And they spoke the word of the Lord to him along with everyone in his house. 33 He took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds. Right away he and all his family were baptized.
Ephesians 2:10 CSB – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.
Results of Salvation = Good Works
Baptism is going all in with Jesus.
Acts 22:16 – And now, why are you delaying? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’
