Psalm 145:18 ESV – The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Isaiah 59:14-15 CSB – Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far off.
For truth has stumbled in the public square, and honesty cannot enter.

John 18:37 CSB – “You are a king then? ” Pilate asked.

Jesus replied. “I was born for this, and I have come into the world for this: to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

Truth demands a thorough investigation

2 Corinthians 13:1 CSB – This is the third time I am coming to you. Every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Deuteronomy 19:15 CSB – “One witness cannot establish any iniquity or sin against a person, whatever that person has done. A fact must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

1 Timothy 5:19 CSB – Don’t accept an accusation against an elder unless it is supported by two or three witnesses.

Acts 17:11 CSB – The people here were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, since they received the word with eagerness and examined the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

John 14:6 CSB – “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

1 Corinthians 1:18-21 CSB – For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but it is the power of God to us who are being saved. 19 For it is written,

I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and I will set aside the intelligence of the intelligent.

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the debater of this age? Hasn’t God made the world’s wisdom foolish?

21 For since, in God’s wisdom, the world did not know God through wisdom, God was pleased to save those who believe through the foolishness of what is preached.

Commitment to Truth = Truth Test Us

2 Corinthians 13:5 CSB – Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves.

Matthew 7:1-2 CSB – “Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use.

v.5, Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye.

1 Corinthians 11:28, 30 CSB – Let a person examine himself; in this way let him eat the bread and drink from the cup.

Psalm 139:23-24 CSB – Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
24 And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.

Commitment to Truth = Commitment to Love

2 Corinthians 13:9 CSB – We rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. We also pray that you become fully mature.

2 Corinthians 13:10 CSB – I am writing these things while absent, so that when I am there I may not have to deal harshly with you, in keeping with the authority the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

2 Corinthians 13:11-13 CSB – …rejoice. Become mature, be encouraged, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you. 12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Ephesians 4:15 CSB – “speak the truth in love”

John 3:17 CSB – God didn’t send His son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
