Romans 5:1, 10 (NIV 84), “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…for if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”

Peace around us stems from peace within us.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV),Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Peace is not the absence of tension, but the presence of God.
