Complaining

Philippians 2:14 NLT – “Do everything without complaining and arguing.”

Complaining drives people away!

Job 6:11, 13-17, 21; 7:3, 5, 7, 11, 15-16 NLT – “But I don’t have the strength to endure. I have nothing to live for. No, I am utterly helpless, without any chance of success. One should be kind to a fainting friend, but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty. My brothers, you have proved as unreliable as a seasonal brook that overflows its banks in the spring when it is swollen with ice and melting snow. But when the hot weather arrives, the water disappears. The brook vanishes in the heat. You, too, have given no help. You have seen my calamity, and you are afraid. I, too, have been assigned months of futility, long and weary nights of misery. My body is covered with maggots and scabs. My skin breaks open, oozing with pus. O God, remember that my life is but a breath, and I will never again feel happiness. I cannot keep from speaking. I must express my anguish. My bitter soul must complain. I would rather be strangled – rather die than suffer like this. I hate my life and don’t want to go on living. Oh, leave me alone for my few remaining days.”

Complaining is counter to God’s will!

Philippians 4:8 NLT – “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worth of praise.”

Complaining is a slap in the face of God!

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT – “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
